The Mackenzie River delta is a vast expanse of interweaving channels and pools. From the air it is possible to appreciate its almost unfathomable complexity. Here I used a 50 mm prime lens to isolate one of the thousands of channels that make up the delta. here...

12 days later, the same stream junction as seen in the previous photograph, viewed from a different angle. Now a burnt red mass of dwarf birch and bearberry hosts veins of green and yellow: creekside alders and willows that drink from rivers reflecting clear blue sky.
